The SAZ, consisting of Christian and Jewish Zionists, is a non-denominational, non-racial, non-sexist association which supports Israel’s right to exist in peace with its neighbours.

Growing Zionism in the face of dangerous times for Israel, the Jewish State

The SAZ sets much store by the fact that it might well be the first type of Zionist body of its kind worldwide and a pioneer in pointing the way forward to grow Zionism once again as a vibrant, dynamic force defending and promoting Israel’s interests; providing succour for the Jewish State facing dire challenges – particularly in light of the threats of her mortal enemies.

Anyone who has had any experience within an assembly of sincere Christian Zionists expressing their love for Israel – without any hidden agenda – cannot fail to become overwhelmed by their extraordinary enthusiasm, warmth and passion for the Jewish State’s welfare.

The passion for Zionism among Christian Zionists today is bringing about a wonderful infusion and renewal of high spirits associated with those who look upon Israel as the embodiment of the biblical injunction “to be a light unto the nations”.

SAZ will be pursuing opportunities to tap into the vast reservoir of Zionist sympathy right across the religious and racial spectra of South African society, enlisting supporters in the Zionist cause.

After speaking to David Hersch, then National Vice Chairman of the SA Zionist Federation, at a meeting organised by Christian Zionists in George, South Africa, in 2007, we agreed that the way to grow and strengthen Zionism in SA was through the involvement of Christian Zionists and, numbering in their millions, who have an uncomplicated passion for the People of the Book.
