MISSILES just hit Beersheba
Two missiles have just hit Beersheba. Though a kindergarten was hit there are no casualties, thank G-d. This is the furthest that the terrorists have fired using the more advanced Grad rockets. Military analysts believe that the terrorists have about two thousand rockets mostly Kassam of short range, some longer and about forty with the potential to hit as far as Beersheba( 40 km distance). That amount of missile power will allow the Gazan terrorists to constantly pepper Israel for a prolonged time even if the damage is negligible. The psychological damage is more concerning. A lot will depend on a leadership that has proved unfit for leadership and a media that will look for the sensational. The bright star in this constellation is the Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi who has refurbished the army since the failed Second Lebanon war and his motivated army of committed soldiers. He has shown incredible wisdom and careful preparation, planning and activity Beersheba , Aashkelon and the western Negev still being attacked as these words are being written. 800,000 civilians are under the threat of the Hamas rockets.
