PM on Iran: 'We Are Not Deluding Ourselves'
Speaking in his first public reaction to the election of Hassan Rohani as the new Iranian president, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned the world not to be deceived by the leader’s “moderate” credentials.
"We are not deluding ourselves," the prime minister said said. "We need to remember that the Iranian ruler at the outset disqualified candidates who were not in line with his extreme world view, and from among those whom he did allow, the one seen as least identified with the regime was elected. But we are still speaking about someone who calls Israel the 'great Zionist Satan."
Professors: Stop calling Israel an occupier
Professors participating in an international conference at Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv this week explained that international law that does necessarily support the claim that Israel is imposing a belligerent occupation on Judea and Samaria.
South African lawmaker: Israel NOT an apartheid state
Reverend Dr. Kenneth Meshoe, an outspoken member of the South Africa Parliament, recently expressed ongoing frustration with accusations that Israel is an apartheid state, calling such claims an insult to what his own nation went through.
Earlier this year, Dr. Meshoe visited San Francisco just around the time that American universities, especially in California, were swarming with anti-Israel propagandists whose new favorite ploy is to label Israel as a practitioner of apartheid against the Arabs of the region.
"As a black South African who lived under apartheid, ...in my view, Israel cannot be compared to apartheid in South Africa," Meshoe wrote in the San Francisco Examiner. "Those who make the accusation expose their ignorance of what apartheid really is."
Meshoe explained that under South African apartheid, which was "a legal system of segregation and oppression based on skin color," black people such as himself could not vote, freely travel, or hold high government positions. Furthermore, they were subjected to segregation everywhere from pubic restrooms to schools to hospitals.
Expert: Islam taking over, Europe soon to be unrecognizable
According to Dr. Mordechai Kedar, European softening, together with demographics, is leading to 'abysmal' change. Dr. Avika Libman: Riots start with preachers demanding Muslim state
The murder of a soldier in London, the stabbing of a soldier in Paris and the violent outbreak in Sweden – Europe's alarm clock has been ringing once again over the past week. The negative birthrate compared to the increase in Muslims, the heavy unemployment and the social-religious isolation of Europeanimmigrants are all back on the agenda.
Christian oil company boosts exploration in Israel
Zion Oil & Gas, an American Christian-run company, submitted a new exploratory license last month that will significantly increase its efforts to find oil in Israel.
Zion already explores for oil in areas covering some 218,000 acres of the Jewish state on its Asher-Menashe, Jordan Valley and Joseph licenses. The new Megiddo-Jezreel Valley Licence would add another 98,000 acres of territory.
Israel is generally supportive of outside efforts to find oil in the Holy Land, and is particularly intrigued by Christian involvement in that enterprise, even if many local experts remain skeptical about the chances of actually finding commercially-viable amounts of crude.
Israel Today spoke with Zion Oil & Gas during a company visit to the region in 2011. Founder John Brown said the company "exists because of God's faithfulness to Israel," and expressed his firm belief that the land will one day soon spill forth its bounty for the children of Israel.
The Nazification of Liberal Christianity
The Church of Scotland's report is pure anti-Semitism, as it presents the Jews as stateless beings. Hitler, too, took the Jews out of the Bible
In their ideological assault on the Jews, early Christian theologians interpreted the Roman victory over the Jews, the loss of the Jewish kingdom, the Jews’ capital Jerusalem and the land of Israel as evidence of God’s abandonment of the Jews. God was then pictured as “in there punching” on the side of Christianity and Christians against Judaism and Jews.
Tutu continues the canard sanctions put ANC in power
Despite agreeing back in May that he would share a conference platform in August with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, just two days before that conference, Desmond Tutu, South Africa’s ‘immoral icon,’ announced that it would be wrong to share a platform with Blair because of his complicity in launching the Second Gulf War in 2003 to remove Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
IDF Closes Off Northern Airspace To Civilian Flights
The IDF has decided to close off the air space over northern Israel to civilian flights.
According to the Channel 2 news website, Arkia flights between Haifa and Eilat have been cancelled until May 9.
This is the second time in the last few months that the airspace over Haifa has been declared a no-fly zone due to security tensions, according to a report in Maariv. This time, the news outlet said, it will remain closed for several days.
The decision will mostly affect passenger planes that land or take off in routes that pass over Haifa.
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Feisal al-Mekdad on Sunday called Israel's bombing of a weapons transport in Syria a “declaration of war.” Speaking in an interview on CNN, al-Mekdad said that Israel was siding with “Islamist terrorists” to unseat President Bashar al-Assad, and that Syria would respond “at the time and in the manner that it chooses to.”
Israel has not confirmed or denied the claims that it had attacked a convoy in Syria that was transporting Iranian produced missiles to Hizbullah over Syrian territory. “We don't respond to these kinds of reports,” an IDF spokesperson told foreign news media Sunday.
Anti-Semitism: Demonization, Double Standards, Delegitimization
When I was a dissident in the former Soviet Union, one of my regular activities was monitoring anti-Semitism, and smuggling out evidence and records of such activity to the West. I believed then that the free world, particularly after the Holocaust, would always be a staunch ally in the struggle against anti-Semitism.
Jerusalem's Decreasing Isolation
The bad news is clear. Israel's right to exist is questioned by many, and its ancient and present capital, Jerusalem, is unrecognized by all but a few states. Israeli leaders are sometimes compared to leaders of Nazi Germany, and Israeli actions against the Palestinians are described as Nazi-like policies. Moreover, the Israelis are accused of engaging in South African apartheid policies toward the Palestinians and the country's Arab minority. Opponents and critics portray the Jewish state as the world's worst violator of human rights, United Nations resolutions, and international law.
